Q&A with S&S
S&S: What’s your style of music? How do you describe it?
R&L: Tech house with Ibearican influence and Chicago stylesS&S: Who or what was most instrumental to you when it came to music?
R&L: Our fans are what most drives us. Without their support we would be nothingS&S: What drives you creatively?
R&L: The feeling of house music and the community it creates.S&S: How much does your audience influence you and your music selection?
R&L: 100% during our sets we are always reading the crowd. If they want funky we give them funky. If they want dark and deep we take them down the rabbit hole.S&S: What artists or genres do you listen to when you’re not working?
R&L: We get allot of influence from Chus & Ceballos. When we perform we much rather create a journey then just dropping banger after banger. But when it comes to the peak of the show you better believe we will play songs to get the crowd dancing harderS&S: Do you have any favorite memories of growing up with your family?
R&L: Absolutely! Whether It’s blood family or music family the memories that have been created has done nothing but help us grow as artists.S&S: Is there anything you would like people to know about you?
R&L: That when it comes to Ralph & Louie they have to k ow that we do this strictly for the love of the music. We like to keep things light hearted and always professional. No egos allowedS&S: Are there any charities you are working with or excited to tell us about?
R&L: Yes we have worked with Red Cross, Habitat for humanity and safe house outreach, and homes for homies. Last year we did a series of events at Piedmont park here in Atlanta that raised a good bit of money and 100s of pounds of clothes were donatedS&S: Are there any questions that you wish people would ask you?
R&L: The one question we always like getting is… When are you guys playing next and where?S&S: And on the flip side of that, are there any questions or references you wish people would stop asking or using?
R&L: This is a good one. Everyone and their mothers asks “which one is Ralph and which one is Louie?”This is a question that they will never get the answer to because it’s part of our mystiqueS&S: What artist(s) have you been the most excited to work with?
R&L: Bruno Furlan, Thayana Vale, Threejay just to name a fewS&S: Are there any artists that you dream of working with on a collaboration?
R&L: Chus & ceballos, mark knight, paul johnson and Claude Von strokeS&S: What can we look forward to next from you?
R&L: Continued consistent releases of original music and nationwide touringQ&A By: Shannon “Skip” Syas – S&S Chicago
