Nick Karsten was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Soon he felt that he had DJ skills and found his place behind the turntable. His official DJ career started when he became a resident DJ at one popular club in Ljubljana and remained there for some time.

Success, praise and progress in the mixing technique led to a position of resident DJ in a cutting-edge futuristic club in the capital of Slovenia – Ljubljana, where he played consistently. In addition to the resident position he also played in many clubs around the country where he gathered a lot of experience.

He performed abroad as well. His energetic and persuasive sets fill the dance floor with energy and never leave the audience indifferent. Check out Nick’e exclusive Q&A with S&S below. 

S&S: What’s your style of music? How do you describe it?
NK: Progressive/future/club house… I describe it with word »energetic«

S&S: Who or what was most instrumental to you when it came to music?
NK: Piano or violin.

S&S: What drives you creatively?
NK: Inspiration around the globe, classic music, technology, etc.

S&S: How much does your audience influence you and your music selection?
NK: Sometime more sometime less, depends on event.

S&S: What artists or genres do you listen to when you’re not working?
NK: SHM, Nicky Romero, Nightwish, FLG, Dannic, Aruna, Hardwell, LL, Movie soundtracks, etc.

S&S: Do you have any favorite memories of growing up with your family?
NK: A lot of them

S&S: Is there anything you would like people to know about you?
NK: That I am the best about what I’m doing

S&S: Are there any charities you are working with or excited to tell us about?
NK: Not at the moment.

S&S: Are there any questions that you wish people would ask you?
NK: Whatever they want more or less. They will ask me what they want to ask.

S&S: And on the flip side of that, are there any questions or references you wish people would stop asking or using?
NK: Yes, for music wishes

S&S: What artist(s) have you been the most excited to work with?
NK: I didn’t collaborate with any yet.

S&S: Are there any artists that you dream of working with on a collaboration?
NK: FLG, LL, maybe Tajra or Tara ex. Singer from Nightwish.

S&S: What can we look forward to next from you?
NK: To be on DJ Mag top 100 with quality music.

S&S: What legacy would you like to leave?
MK: The best memories from parties that nowadays people will talk about to their grand kids.
