    DJ Ashton Abels – “Talk Less Do More”

    Hailing from The Mother City Of South Africa with a reputation of being a technical Genius behind the Vinyl or CD decks, DJ Ashton Abels talents have been seen all over the country. Abels is a music scholar, forever developing his craft and refining it to unmatched levels. Evidence of this is the level of flexibility and quality he shows across music genres on his radio shows.     S&S: What’s your style of music? How do you describe it?
    DJ Ashton Abels: I started out at the age 9-10 years old mixing sound from tape deck and turn tables, my sound and genre of must was more of that funk,soul,disco in the 80’s now i drop a set from R&B, hip hop, funk, deep house to lets call it dance music driven from my inner soul…

    S&S: Who or what was most instrumental to you when it came to music?
    DJ Ashton Abels: The words of a song and what sounds are added to just express and brings out the beauty in it…

    S&S: What drives you creatively?
    DJ Ashton Abels: Music, fantasy and dreams, passionate and humble people

    S&S: How much does your audience influence you and your music selection?
    DJ Ashton Abels: Plays a big roll in my influence because it very important when they get the message via my energy and music selection

    S&S: What artists or genres do you listen to when you’re not working?
    DJ Ashton Abels: Away from my everyday sound on radio… in my own space I track down some new funk, soul or RnB, sometimes good deep soulful house but my secret… im big fan of SADE and i jam it loud and also some oldschool, but my mood jumper “Jack Your Body” Steve Silk Hurley

    S&S: Do you have any favorite memories of growing up with your family?
    DJ Ashton Abels: Good memories will always be the Good musical up bringing with my parents bestowed upon me, pulling out their new Records/LPs/Vinyl. My late father use to pull out his jazz and his Ojays,Barry White,Teddy and more and my Mom would pull out her jams and we will just have a family jam, that legacy moved on to myself,brothers and sister..

    S&S: Is there anything you would like people to know about you?
    DJ Ashton Abels: I love to meet new people,get to know different cultures Dream,achieve and live life to the fullest with the One Above Always by my side

    S&S: Are there any charities you are working with or excited to tell us about?
    DJ Ashton Abels: Yes there is, its called SomethingGood Sundays www.somethinggoodsundays.co.za

    DJ Ashton Abels: Can we help or How can we help you with what you doing to become or turn it into a successful project.

    DJ Ashton Abels: There’s so many unnecessary questions at time but its good… it makes me more creative but sometimes all i wanna reply is STOP QUESTIONING! TALK LESS… DO MORE…

    S&S: What artist(s) have you been the most excited to work with?
    DJ Ashton Abels: TIESTO

    S&S: Are there any artists that you dream of working with on a collaboration?
    DJ Ashton Abels: There’s a few in South Africa, Miami and Chicago that would fulfill my dreams

    S&S: What can we look forward to next from you?

    S&S: What legacy would you like to leave?
    DJ Ashton Abels: My sound,Humbleness hard and working life I built along with the Charity origination I started #SomethingGoodSundays to help the needy out there in the world.
