    Chicago DJ and producer Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley is one of the original house music pioneers / DJs. Steve has been at the heart of the global scene for decades and has many hits, remixes and high profile DJ gigs under his belt, as well as being a four time GRAMMY® nominee. In those years Steve has evolved through many different sounds and has remained at the forefront of the music scene as a result. His sound veers from house, R&B & funk but not limited, having grown up on the likes of Quincy Jones and the Jackson 5. Steve has scored music for films like To Wong Foo, worked with stars like Chaka Khan and Madonna just to name a few and has had international hits like “I Can’t Turn Around” and “Let The Music Take Control.”

    Silk has remixed “Good Life” by Inner City and most of Ten City’s singles, including “That’s The Way Love Is”, as well as music by the likes of Prince and Michael Jackson. Steve’s song writing and production credits extend to projects such as CeCe Peniston’s “We Got a Love Thang” (witch was a Top 20 Pop, Top 10 U.K. National Chart hit), Kym Sims’ “Too Blind To See It” (which went Gold and became a Top 10 U.K. National Chart hit), and many others. He Co-Owns S&S Records with his partner Shannon “Skip” Syas, their company has become a bastion of quality, music with countless releases from the likes of CeCe Peniston, DJ Skip, Jameisha Trice, Ann Nesby, Paul Johnson, Roy Davis Jr. and many more. A seamless DJ who owns a vast record collection, Steve has played clubs all over the world as well as starring / featuring on TV like ESPN’s “30 for 30”, Cece Peniston “Unsung” and producing the entire “Oprah’s Pop Star Challenge” album on Epic/Sony Records. As such there are few who have made as vital a contribution to dance and pop culture over the years as Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley.
