    Q&A with S&S

S&S: What’s your style of music? How do you describe it? Dance Music, Funky & Soulful house. I love a mixture of styles and when I play live with my band I would definitely keep it funky.

S&S: Who or what was most instrumental to you when it came to music? From day 1 when I was born, there was music in the house. My parents were devoted and passionate musicians. My father played the guitar and my mother was an amazing singer. That´s when I knew I wanted to be a singer.

S&S: What drives you creatively? When I have certain feelings, happy, sad, content, or excited. That gives me the drive to write it down which will ultimately end in a song.

S&S: How much does your audience influence you and your music selection? I love the audience! I write and sing for myself because I love it but in the end, I want to share it so people can identify with it. When I can transmit my work to the audience and they feel connected, that gives me such a high.

S&S: What artists or genres do you listen to when you’re not working? A lot but to name a view I listen a lot to Jazz, Chill Out Music, Soul classics, R&B and Neo-Soul but I also listen every day to Nature Music (rain, storm and ocean sounds)

S&S: Do you have any favorite memories of growing up with your family? I was blessed to be part of my family but my favorite memory was listening and watching my mother singing Jazz. She always told me that I can be who I wanted to be and to follow my dream.

S&S: Is there anything you would like people to know about you? I can be insecure when it comes to my music. Asking myself if it is good enough.

S&S: Are there any charities you are working with or excited to tell us about? This year I started to be a coach/mentor. The Coach Project is a volunteer initiative in Spain that aims to guide and motivate young people in situations of social vulnerability who come from an experience of school failure through coaching and mentoring. Here we help these young kids with making their decisions and help them to choose their career path.

S&S: Are there any questions that you wish people would ask you? Yes, if I had regrets choosing this profession. Obviously I don´t!

S&S: And on the flip side of that, are there any questions or references you wish people would stop asking or using? I really think people should stop using the word famous. I had some weird questions about this. I am not going to tell what those questions were but you can guess what it was 🙂

S&S: What artist(s) have you been the most excited to work with? I worked with a lot of musicians, very good and talented ones, and always excited to work with them again. But the most inspirational was my mother Monica Ingram, Nigel Hays (UK) and Joan Muñoz (ES)(Zonum)

S&S: Are there any artists that you dream of working with on a collaboration? Oh, I love to dream! D´Angelo, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, Angie Stone.. back vocals sign me up for it!! And still, I have dreams about it!

S&S What advice would you give to an aspiring artist? Be unique, don´t give up, and stay true to yourself.

S&S: What can we look forward to next from you? I recently got the opportunity to collaborate on a new song. It has some Neo Soul influence: I can´t sleep without you. Working on a remix that will be released soon. And of course, new tracks are in process with Joan Muñoz aka Zonum.
