S&S: What’s your style of music? How do you describe it?
Michael Airhart: I love soulful house, gospel house, funky house and disco house . These different types are meds to my soul. I carry a case of these were ever I go .more like stress relief. Sometimes when the day gets ruff I slide a CD in and its a rap stress be gone lol
S&S: Who or what was most instrumental to you when it came to music?
Michael Airhart: Farley ‘JACKMASTER” Funk. Know one ever new this but growing up in the projects in the early 80’s my mom was my world but my mom had a huge drug issue and an abusive drunk boyfriend. Who would always lay hands on my mom. My mom was a women who worked hard for every thing but couldn’t shake the habit. A lot of people didn’t no my mom was a functioning addict. This is where Farley came in . It was times were I wanted to commit suicide. Seeing my mom go through this as a young adult made me want to give up until i cut on the radio and Farley was on djing. The way he played, the way his Farley sample started off HIS mixes change my life. The music and the way he played the music gave me hope. He’s the reason why I became a dj, he’s the reason I believe i’m still here because of him . If not listening to him every night on the radio I believe I would have left this earth a along time ago. I’m still a true Farley “JACKMASTER” Funk fan.
